About Miriam Larici

Miriam Larici was introduced to the world of dance at the early age of five.  It was the very essence of disciplines and techniques of the dance that her coaches began to revere her artistry. Audiences awaited her prestigious career as a performer to unfold. Ms Larici, began her international reputation as an extraordinary performer, instructor and choreographer.

 

Born and raised in Matheu, Buenos Aires, Argentina she was trained in classical Ballet,jazz, modern dance, acrobatic technique, Flamenco, social and stage Tango  Her first Tango instructors were Gloria and Eduardo Arquimbau.

 

Miriam has produced, directed, and choreographed Tango shows, including Tango and Fire presented in Buenos Aires and the United States; the US “Festival Internacional de Tango Argentino”; “El Coraz˛n de Tango” and “Tango Buenos Aires”( for Columbia Artists.

 

Famous as the iconic image of Luis Bravo’s Broadway-London hit “Forever Tango” Miriam mesmerized viewers and critics with her artistic elegance.  She was invited to dance with the show for a performing arts series “Evening at Pops“, with Boston Pops Orchestra nationally broadcasted by PBS. It was at that performance, the acclaimed dancer Leslie Caron stated “…If I had to choose among tango dancers in the world, these two would be my option.” 

Ms Larici became a Broadway star while performing for two years at the Walter Kerr and Marquis Theater in Time Square.  Her show credits includes also roles in the Broadway shows “42nd St.” and the famous musical “Me and My Girl”presented in Argentina,  Laugh & Tango(US& Canada), Folies Bergere(US), Alma de Tango(Japan & Taiwan),Tango Spirit III (Japan) Tango Fiesta (US), Tango Dreams (US& Indonesia), Fusion Tango(US), I Tango (US), Santa Rosa Symphonic Tango Concert, Extreme Tango’s Tango Evolution directed by Daniel Binelli (US),

 

Miriam Larici has been performing with many famous orchestras including “Forever Tango”,”The Boston Pops” “Color Tango” Dir, Roberto Alvarez, “Esemble Hyperion”,  “Adrover’s Quintet”, “Los Angeles philarmonic Orchestra”, Norberto Ramos, Ryota Komatsu,Eroica Trio, Daniel Binelli and The Santa Rosa Symphonic.

 

She has appeared on television in many countries worldwide , including:  Argentina, Italia(RAI), Japan, Mexico(televisa)m South Korea, USA(various). She also danced in the film Mambo Kings.

 

 

Besides producing the “US Festival de Tango Argentino” for the last three years, she has been a featured perfomer and instructor at: 6th,7th,8th,9th,&10th Nora's Tango Week 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006,2007; 1st, 2nd, &3rd NJ Tango Extravaganza 2005, 2006, 2007;2nd torino Tango Fest, Italy 2002 Tango Seduction Fall

Illuminating stages around the world, Miriam has perfomed and taught in Bermuda, Canada(Toronto, Vancouver, Windsor, Victoria), Italy (Milan, Rome, Turin,Genova) Japan(Tokio, Osaka, Sapporo, Nagoya, Hiroshima, Nagasaki and more), Mexico (Monterey, Mexico City) Lisbon, Portugal,Seoul and Pusan, South Korea,

Madrid, Spain, ) Indonesia(Bali,JAkarta , Taiwan(Taipei, Tainan, Tai Chung ),Colon Theater (Argentine Opera House)

and the major cities of the United States

 

Miriam  presented Her 1st “LOS ANGELES DE TANGO FESTIVAL” November 2008, at the Radisson Hotel in Whittier, California.

 

She is the artistic director and choreographer for the stage production "Tango Adamor"presented at Los Angeles's Wilshire and Alex Theatre on November 2008.

 

Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo are now sharing their mastery, intensity, passion and magic.

Lately they achieved the Gold Medal competing as the Tango duet on NBC’s new series Superstars of Dance.

About Leonardo Barrionuevo

Leonardo has trained in an exquisite Tango style with some of the best Milongueros of the night of Buenos Aires as well as in contemporary dance, jazz and partnering technique.

 

He has performed and/or choreographed in many tango shows in Argentina, Europe and Latin America. These include:

"Tango Sur", "Adios Pampa Mia," "Una Noche de Tango","Tango Evolution" in Italy 2002, and "Che Tango" in the "Cafe Tortoni" in Buenos Aires Argentina, also futured with one of the most famous Tango orchestra of Argentina "Juan de Dios Filiberto."

 

In 2005 he toured with the show "Sabor a Tango" throughout Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela. Leonardo has achieved first place in many tango festivals throughout Argentina such as:

 " Festival Patagonia y Tango" 2004 and " Festival Mayen Leufur" in Rio Negro Argentina among others.  He has also starred in the show "Rojo Tango" at hotel "Faena" in the city of Buenos Aires.

 

In 2007, Leonardo joined the London/Broadway hit “FOREVER TANGO”and has been touring with the company for the past year at major cities of United States,He also performed at the Forever Tango film.

 

Mastery, intensity, passion and magic are now blended with Leonardo Barrionuevo and Miriam Larici dancing together since June 2008.

 

Performing and teaching at major Tango Festivals and shows around the world. Featured at Boston and New Orleans Tango Festivals and the opening night of “Tango Rouge” in Seattle WA.

 

Recently joined the cast of “Los Angeles de Tango Festival and the stage production of Tango Adamor.”
